Dear Feeling Stuck,
Of course, nothing is wrong
with you, and if you will give me the chance, I’d like to share some
information about how unique you are! If
you would give me your birth date, time and place, I’d like to run your Birth
Chart and then we can talk over Zoom.
When the young woman wrote back, she
gave me her birth information and I pulled her Natal Chart and began my review,
making notes for our session together.
As we begin to talk, I learned that
this person is very interested in a career change. One thing I noticed is that she’s in the
middle of her “Saturn Return.” What this
means is that Saturn is returning to the sign where it was on the day of her
birth. Saturn takes 28-30 years to
travel around the Zodiac wheel and when it makes its “return” it is a time of
change. Here’s what I shared with this woman:
You are in the middle of your first Saturn Return. This occurs when Saturn returns to the sign it was in when you were born and usually happens between the ages of 28 and 32. Saturn moved into Aquarius in March of 2020. Think back to that time and reflect on what was happening, what you were thinking last year between March and July 1, when it went back into Capricorn for a few months. Then, in December 2020, Saturn moved back into Aquarius, where it will stay for the next 2 to 2.5 years. It will not return to Aquarius again until you are between 58 and 62. This will be another pivotal time for you.
A Saturn Return is a time of
change. What worked in the past may not
be working now. Your goals may
change. You may feel the impact of these
changes or any resistance to changes that you want to make at a Soul level for
a few more years. Many people consider this a time of moving fully into
adulthood and a feeling of wanting to “get on with my life.” It may feel like
you are “moving through Jello” and afterwards, there will be relief and the
knowledge of entering a new stage of life.
Sun in Leo presents a person who loves to be the best and brightest and wants to be recognized for this. However, there are also many Leos who have an inferiority complex and may be a bit shy. My guess was that this was the case, and she agreed. She prefers not to be in the spotlight at all for fear of rejection. We talked about her doing more to bring herself joy and spend less time caving to the demands of others, especially family members.
Moon in Capricorn gives her a “get it done and get it done now” mentality and may contribute to some of the worry over perfectionism and “what ifs.” One of her lessons is learning how to let go and have some fun! She might also want to slow down and pace herself a bit, to avoid being overwhelmed.
Her Rising Sign is also in Capricorn,
so she gets a double dose of a strong drive to live a productive, successful
life. Saturn rules her chart because
Saturn is the ruling planet of Capricorn. Again, lots of seriousness and
structure. The polar point of Capricorn
is Cancer.
Lots of self-nurturing and self-care is in order, to balance out the Capricorn
seriousness.
This part of her chart offers insight
on career guidance. While the Rising Sign sits on the horizon at the time of
birth, the Midheaven gives you a picture of the top of the sky on your
birthdate. Here, I shared info from several
resources:
Those with
Scorpio in the Midheaven are seeking to facilitate transformative work that has
the power to completely change the lives of others. Skilled at getting to the root of an issue,
they can root out what the real problem is and help others transcend it swiftly.
With Scorpio's incredible strength and powers of perception, they are always changing and transforming themselves. They show others it is safe and even empowering to shed what no longer serves to live a life of pursing their true passions.
She shared that she has recently begun
taking yoga teacher training and wants to use this to transform not only her
life but the lives of others. She
certainly has the deep Scorpio passion for transforming her life and the lives of others!
She also mentioned some childhood shame,
and I shared how shame can be one of the most debilitating emotions of
all. Brene’ Brown has written
extensively on this subject and has a Shame Worksheet that is really helpful. I sent her a pdf of that sheet in my summary
email.
As we closed the session, I shared
some energy clearing tools for her to use whenever the “monkey mind” takes
over. We discussed how using EFT, Finger
Acupressure and the Access Clearing Statement can really help clear her energy
in the moment. The Finger technique also works really well when you can’t go to
sleep at night or you wake up and have a hard time going back to sleep.
We also talked about the importance of
meditation and journaling. Because of
her yoga practice, she was familiar with meditation and I shared with her an
app I use called Insight Timer. It has hundreds of meditations from 5 min to
over an hour in length. Most options are
free.
I heard from her a few months later and
she has started the yoga teacher training and transitioned to another role in
her company that better fits her interests and skills.
